When Silence Died
A (attempt at a) Poem
Leave it be, as what once was! But now is beset at all sides. The grumbling, humming, thundering... The coming of new tides! Now Peace mourns what is coming... And that is how silence died. Let it be as what once was! But now is beset by all sides. The howling, crying, shouting... The marching of new tides! Now Virtue trembles for what is coming... And that is how Peace died. Make it be as it once was! But now it is beset by all sides. The plotting, threatening, scheming... The turning of new tides! Now innocence fears what is coming... And that is how Virtue died. Bring it back as it once was! Which is now beset by all sides. The butchering, murdering, ravaging... The terror of new tides! Now Vipers and Jackals laugh as they come... And that is how innocence died. It shall be as it once was! Now they are cornered by all sides. Raging, warring, avenging... The break of the new tides! Now the Vipers and Jackals dread what is coming, Praying to escape their demise! Foolish they are and they know it... That the Lion's patience has died.

This is a fantastic poem - if an attempt, then it was successful.
When I write poetry, I sometimes feel like I am just writing lyrics to some quaint song. Other times, I produce something like the above - timeless, as though the words were always there, etched onto the threads of fate woven by the Norns.
You nailed it.
